It’s that time of year again.
Where guys in a relationship are trying to figure out how to make their girl feel special and still save money.
Where single girls are trying to figure out how she can survive throughout the day without crying and thinking about her ex-boyfriend.
The cheesiest holiday of the year... Valentine’s Day.
I wish you guys can understand how much I dislike this holiday. No it's not because I’m single, lonely, and have no one to celebrate it with. I just don’t like how they hype this holiday up. I was home for Christmas break and Target already had their store decorated with hearts and cupid. I still had my Christmas tree up!
Girls put so much pressure on their man to make this ONE-day perfect. So what if you don’t get an edible arrangement sent to your job so all of your co-workers can get jealous. As soon as this day is over, everything goes back to normal. Your man should take you out and buy you nice things just because, not just one day out of the year. If you want to buy me diamond earrings don’t wait until February 14, ill take them June 5, March 17th, whenever.
The females in relationships make it so much harder for us single gals to even enjoy the day. All day we have to see Instagram pictures, Facebook post, and tweets about how you have the best boyfriend. Blah. Blah. Blah.
Here are 5 things you can do (if you’re single) on Valentine’s Day.
1. Have a girl’s night. Invite your friends over, watch non romantic movies, make cupcakes, anything to get your mind off of not having a man to celebrate with.
2. Go to the bar. Trust me, you wont see any couples in there.
3. Go shopping! Since you don’t have a significant other to spend money on, spend it on yourself.
4. Work out. While girls are stuffing their face with chocolate you can be running on the treadmill.
5. Clean. I know when I don’t wanna think about stuff, I blast some Beyonceé and get to scrubbing.
You don’t have to be taken out on a romantic, candle lit dinner or walk into your room that’s covered with rose petals. Don’t get caught up in the hype. Its just one day.
